About WheyWise

Supplement aisles lie. We don't.

WheyWise started in a garage gym with one frustration: every "best protein" list read like an ad. So we built the list we wished existed — bought with our own money, tested blind, and ranked by results, not revenue.

Our method

Five gates. Zero shortcuts.

Every powder we suggest survives the same five-stage gauntlet. Most tubs fail at gate two — that's the point.

  1. 01

    We buy it retail

No review samples, no brand freebies. We purchase every tub anonymously so we test exactly what you'd receive.

  2. 02

    Blind taste panel

Twelve everyday lifters score flavour, texture, and mixability without knowing the brand. Chalky never advances.

  3. 03

    Label forensics

We audit for amino spiking, hidden sugars, and proprietary blends. Anything undisclosed is an instant fail.

  4. 04

    Certification check

We verify third-party testing seals and manufacturing certifications against independent databases.

  5. 05

    Cost-per-protein rank

Final scores are weighted by protein per dollar. An elite powder at an absurd price won't top our list.

  6. Then we re-test yearly

Formulas change quietly. Every pick defends its rank annually — or loses its badge.

WheyWise is reader-supported. When you get a product through links on our site, we may earn a commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you.

Here's what that does and doesn't mean: commissions never influence scores, rankings, or which products we test. Brands can't pay for placement, pay to remove criticism, or see reviews before publication. We show fewer picks — not more — because most tubs don't earn a suggestion.

If you ever feel a recommendation reads like an ad, tell us. We'll re-test the product publicly or pull the badge.
